Ken was only eight years old when he thought of putting up an animal shelter for stray dogs and cats. He figured, once he has a shelter, these animals wouldn’t have to be homeless anymore. When his father learned about his plan, he told Ken that he would have to wait 20 years to make it happen. Well, that’s if he comes up with enough money, of course.
Now, the thing about kids is that they’re not quick to give up on their dreams. Ken went on to help stray animals the best way he knew how: by giving them nutritious food. Whenever he and his family would go out, he would bring food so he could feed these homeless creatures.
When Ken’s mother uploaded photos of him feeding stray animals, it immediately caught so many people’s attention. Some of them sent cash and in-kind donations so he could help more strays. Ken was already nine years then, but his dream of putting up an animal shelter remained alive in him.
Happy Animals Club
Ken was able to manifest his dream when he finally raised enough money. From keeping stray animals in a converted garage, he was able to buy a property and build a shelter there. He calls it “Happy Animals Club” because the stray animals looked much happier since he started helping them.
With everyone’s help, Ken was able to get more dogs off the streets. Once they’re at the shelter, they’re given regular meals and medical care. When they’re ready, Ken puts them up for adoption so they could experience being part of loving families.
Forever changed
Ken is now 15 years old, and he’s lost count of the number of animals he and his team has helped. The numbers don’t really matter to him. He puts more focus on giving stray animals a second chance at life and a forever home.
