The unbreakable bond between a pet and its owner is something that is very real. Such a bond can even persist after death. The following documentary is about a dog who refuses to trust anyone else after his owner died.
Daroo is a dog that has lived alone in an empty house for five years. The nearby residents know him quite well. He is known for being too stingy because he doesn’t allow anyone to touch or pet him.
Daroo once lived with an old woman. They shared a very special bond that still persisted five years after her death. He refused to let go of his owner’s memories, and he is still waiting for her to come back.
A middle-aged woman became interested in Daroo and wanted to adopt him. However, getting him to come with her proved to be an arduous task. Daroo would be calm when he is approached, but he will violently protest as soon he is urged to move.
The woman asked for advice from a veterinarian on how to get Daroo to trust her. She was instructed to record her voice. After that, the recorder was placed on Daroo’s bed, and the woman’s voice was played on a loop. This was a strategy to get Daroo used to the sound of a new person.
The woman returned to Daroo’s home after a week. This time she was able to persuade the dog to come with her. The people who saw the scene were astonished. They never imagined that Daroo would ever willingly follow someone who is not his previous owner.
When Daroo reached the woman’s car, he hesitated and looked back for a while. After that, he entered the vehicle and accepted his new life. The new owner paid respect to the deceased owner by whispering a message of appreciation into the air near the abandoned house.
