One day while Laurette was walking in her yard, she saw a dog pushing into her fence. When the dog finally made its way, it went straight up to her in a very friendly and sweet manner. She called her neighbor and discovered that the dog’s name was Georgia and she was a street dog living with him for the moment.
So she put her back into her neighbor’s yard but she came right back. For the second time, she pushed her back again but she still came back for her like she was choosing her to be her family. So when Georgia pushed back into the fence the third time, Laurette just let her settle into her home. She fell asleep content and well that night.
Seeing Georgia in her home, it felt like she belonged. Laurette immediately phoned her neighbor and asked if she could keep her and without skipping a beat, he said yes. Georgia settled right into the family and she never left Laurette’s side.
Georgia coming into Laurette’s life that day when she pushed herself into the fence was something she was very grateful for. During that time, she just finished her 6 rounds of chemo and 25 rounds of radiation due to ovarian cancer. Thankfully, she won that battle.
Having Georgia by her side was just one of the best things that happened in her life. She made her love going outside and exploring adventures. So when Laurette finally fully recovered from cancer, she wanted to tick off something from her bucket list with Georgia.
She had a motorcycle with a sidecar and when she was getting her license, she thought how Georgia loved rides so much and she would be the perfect companion for her journey. So they built her a safety harness and the two would just ride and Georgia loved it very much. She definitely loved it so much that she would wag her tail every time.
Even with just the click of Laurette’s boots, she would jump and go straight to the door because she knew she would be in for a treat to ride. Laurette was so grateful that Georgia pushed her way into that fence. She made her life so much better.
