For human parents, one of the most memorable (and adorable) parts of parenthood is teaching their baby how to walk. It’s a touching moment between parents and their babies as it is one of the babies’ first milestones. But it seems that dogs have a different take on this, particularly Bulldogs.
In this funny video, a mommy Bulldog named Patches can be seen delicately training her puppy Elvis on how to walk correctly. Obviously, Patches love her son so much, so she dedicates so much of her attention to him.
And there is a heavy reason behind it.
While every dog mom showers their puppies with so much love, Patches chose to go the extra mile and provide her son with so much more. That’s because Elvis had a rough start in life. The poor puppy was born with a cleft lip; that’s why he has to be bottle-fed for a long time.
Elvis’s physical defect and his thin body made his life a bit harder, which is why Patches, as a responsible mom, was doing everything she can so Elvis can live as normally as possible. And it can be seen in the video where she closely trains her son to take his first steps. But while this moment looked very touching, it gave the viewers some dose of laughs as it turned hilarious at some point.
At first, the puppy, Elvis, was very willing to comply with his mom’s constant persuasions to walk. Patches can be seen gently pushing her son to make him slowly but surely walk.
The training session was going well until Elvis showed signs of exhaustion, but it seems that Patches chose to ignore it to train her son even further. But it was clear that Elvis has already reached his limits and wants to take a rest, but as his mom kept on ignoring him, he decided that enough is enough. All of a sudden, the seemingly frail puppy launched a series of wild barks towards his mom. And that’s where their little argument began.
Little Elvis wants to rest, but mommy Patches intends to train him some more. But when Patches felt that their argument wasn’t going anywhere, she decided to unload one of her high-level tactics. Instead of continuing to engage in the fight, Patches chose to distance herself from her son literally.
Since she knows that her son couldn’t take being far away from her, Patches know that Elvis would soon follow her. And her tactic turned out to be very effective as Elvis was convinced to walk some more (even if he didn’t want to) to be closer to his mom.
Elvis took many steps that day, and even though it was tiring for him, Patches knew that this training was crucial for her beloved son.
