When Roisin and Hunter Bicklmeier started planning their wedding in 2019, they knew that their golden retriever, Bear, would be a non-negotiable part of their big day. After all, the pup had played a massive role in their love life, so they felt that the wedding would be empty without him there.
As the couple prepared for their big day, they decided to involve Bear in the ceremony and reception as much as possible. They dressed him in an adorable bow tie that matched the wedding motif and had him walk down the aisle to his beaming fur parents.
Roisin and Hunter also incorporated a “Bear’s biscuit bar” in the reception area, where guests could get doggie backs to take home to their own pups. Needless to say, the couple was happy with how they featured their precious Bear throughout the day.
However, the most adorable Bear-themed element of their big day was actually the wedding cake! You see, Roisin and Hunter commissioned Canadian baker Darci to make their cake. She ran a pastry studio called Kake by Darci, which became famous for her adorable customized desserts.
Roisin hoped that Darci could personalize their cake, too, by incorporating the Bear figurine she bought into the design. Thankfully, the fantastic pastry chef was able to deliver just that. From the front, the couple’s three-tiered cake looked like any other regular all-white wedding cake with roses and a “Happy Ever After” topper.
However, when seen from behind, Roisin’s little Bear figurine stood on the bottom tier with his nose and paws covered in white frosting. It was positioned as if he had just taken a bite out of the cake. The couple couldn’t help but gush at the adorable creation, especially since they believed that the real Bear was actually capable of such a stunt.
Fortunately, the pup was too busy entertaining the guests to think of getting the first taste out of the pastry. Look at the adorable wedding cake here.
