Firefighters may not fancy capes, but they are, without a doubt, one of the real-life heroes of our society today. They risk their lives on the frontlines to save as many people as possible from the devastating and deadly effects of raging fires. And every time they deal with any fire situation, they are literally putting their lives at great risk, a risk so high that it can even claim their lives.
While firefighters are more than willing to fulfill their job, it cannot be denied that they also experience stress, anxiety, and fatigue with their jobs. Fortunately, one animal is willing to help these heroes cope with these difficulties — a Golden Retriever. This dog’s name is Kerith, a two-year-old Golden Retriever. He is a licensed therapy dog who provides love and comfort for the firefighters at their basecamp in Point Reyes, California.
As a therapy dog, Kerith was trained to ease the difficulty of people who are experiencing pain and heaviness within. That is why he’s giving a lot of warm and tight hugs to Marin County’s firefighters in Northern California to ease all the heaviness they feel.
Dealing with California’s monstrous wildfires isn’t a child’s play but a task that puts the firefighter’s lives at risk every day. That is why these heroes need as much support as possible to ease the challenges they are experiencing within themselves. And they are fortunate to have Kerith by their side.
With his owner, Heidi Carmen, Kerith provides all the emotional support she can give to the heroic firefighters to motivate them. And for Carmen, there is nothing more rewarding than to see Kerith being so effective at what he’s doing. Kerith, on the other hand, derives his joy in seeing comforted souls every day, and California’s firefighters couldn’t thank him enough for all the love he’s giving.
