It’s surprising that instead of receiving gifts from their guests, this newly-wed couple from Ohio requested that they drop donations at their favorite shelter instead.
Couple Jonathan and Jeananne Wickham are very much involved in doing volunteer work for protecting the animals’ interests. They have adopted some pets from the shelters. For years that they have been actively volunteering, they have observed that shelters are in great need of supplies in providing for all the animals under their care.
Jonathan and Jeananne did some research, and from there, they have decided which center will benefit the most in their plans of doing a mass donation. They have agreed to send their donations to Wayne County Humane Society in Wooster, Ohio.
The couple then sent out the wedding registry to their guests, and they were surprised to see what was on the list. It was filled with a list of supplies that their chosen shelter needs, like dog and cat food, cat litter, treats, and several cleaning supplies. They even requested their guests to directly send their “wedding gifts” to the shelter.
Aside from the supplies the shelter needs, Jonathan and Jeananne also gave an option of cash donations to their guests.
On their wedding day, Jonathan and Jeananne were surprised to see the huge amount of donations that their family and friends gave to their chosen shelter. On top of that, they also received an additional $2,000 cash donation.
The staff of Wayne County Humane Society was grateful for the couple’s efforts. The cash donation was used to treat the two injured cats under their care. They also mentioned that it was their first time to see their food pantry full. The massive amount of donations that they got would truly help the animals to be in their top shape.
Congratulations and best wishes, Jonathan and Jeananne!
