Meet Lola, a Beagle who lives in the UK with Paul Roberts and his family. Not only is she a sweet and gentle pet, but she is also one curious pup. Case in point, she went viral on YouTube after an epic game of hide-and-seek with her dad.
It all happened when Roberts had to spend summer working away from his home. While the family understood why he needed to be out for a while, Lola did not have any idea whether he would come back or not. All the time he was away, she couldn’t help but miss him so much.
When it was time for Roberts’ return, the family decided to spice things up a little bit. They planned to prepare a little trick for Lola and record her reaction. Little did the pup knew, she was up for a big surprise.
The video started with Roberts’ partner calling Lola’s name to get her attention. When Lola heard her, she perked up and followed. Though she didn’t have any idea what was happening, she still ran with excitement.
Once Lola was upstairs, she wagged her tail in anticipation; however, she saw nothing different. That was when she began investigating the room, only to come across a suitcase and some clothing. By that time, she knew something was up.
True enough, Lola sniffed everywhere as if she was tracking something and ended up in front of a bed. After a moment of hesitation, she jumped on the bed, and lo and behold, it was her father hiding under the comforter. She kept on sniffing until Roberts finally lift the covers, and that’s when a heartwarming reunion took place.
Lola was beyond herself with joy that she didn’t even know how to express her happiness. She spun, bounced, and whimpered, and she gave her beloved father some well-deserved kisses and licks. You can say that she missed him very much from there on, and Roberts felt likewise—what a great surprise indeed.
