Danielle was at the Jersey Pitts Rescue when she got a call from animal control saying that a dog was stuck on a cliff. She immediately ran down the street and climbed the steep cliff. It was dangerous with all the garbage and debris under the bushes but she needed to get that dog down.
The dog was really shaking like a leaf and he was so disconnected. She tried to lure him with treats and promised that she wouldn’t hurt him but he still wouldn’t budge. And whenever she would try to get closer, he would back off a bit more to the ledge. Luckily, Danielle alongside animal control was able to get him down and walk to the facility.
Down at the facility, they discovered that he had no microchip but he would be on hold for seven days as a stray before the rescue organization could pull him. During that time, Danielle spent her mornings walking with Benny. Benny soon became comfortable with her and he would give her a hug when she would come to see him.
After seven days, they were able to pull him through and it wasn’t long before an application for foster-to-adopt was officialized. He was adopted by a sweet couple named Jessica and Vernon. According to the couple, Benny was very energetic and he had bad separation anxiety issues. Thankfully, their dog Sky helped him get settled.
Sky didn’t take Benny at first and there were times that she looked like she was asking when was he gonna go home. But as time passed, the two became comfortable with each other. Unfortunately, the family faced a challenge when they discovered that Sky had osteosarcoma. And it felt like Benny knew as well that Sky was going through something rough.
When she passed, there were a lot of tears. Thankfully, Benny was there to tell Jessica and Vernon that everything was going to be alright. He came in at the right time for them and he always made them smile and feel loved. Benny was there to help them heal.
